As the title says, I accidently touched the screen on my Samsung 226BW while unscrewing the stand after installing a neoflex monitor arm. There doesnt appear to be any damage right now, but do you think there may be damage down the line or it it immediately shown and I am safe.

It shouldn't be a problem.

Here at work, my boss continuously walks up and jabs her finger into my LCD pointing out things. It drives me nuts but doesn't seem to cause any damage. :D

It depends on what you mean by "touched" If you mean touched as in pressed your fingers on the screen it should be fine (after you clean the prints;) ) but if you applied excessive pressure or "touched" it with a sharp object then it could be somewhat damaged.

yeah, seriously. I have an LCD HDTV. My kids touch it all the time. What seems to be the concern here? If it's fingerprints, then get some Klean and Dry and clean it.

Unless you are striking the LCD with a blunt/sharp object, or pressing heavily on the screen, there should be no worry.

Eh?

I think you might be overthinking this. I'm obsessive compulsive so I go berserk if I smudge my screens, but you won't ever damage it by just touching it. If you poke a pencil or something into it, yeah, you've got a problem but I doubt you could hurt it no matter how hard you finger-stabbed it.

Bah. I always end up with my thumb on the LCD on my lappy...No worries. If you don't see a problem now, you won't see one later.

Office Depot, Best Buy, etc. have LCD monitor wipes for sale. I bought some inexpensive ones. They work well, but I wonder about streaks on glossy LCD's.

At work people mess around and press their finger hard on an LCD screen and do circular motions because it looks "cool" lol. So yeah, it should be fine.

Though you have received you answer already just wanted to contribute that I myself have done a little screwing around with lcd screens, thus far my 1905fp has been: punched, kicked, fell off its stand, had part of the bezel torn off, and to top it all off stabbed

There are also a whole load of smudges from fingers and what not, for sale if anyone wants
Edit: Yes it still works, used now for word processing because the colors are hot so everything is washed out slightly
