So my gf is playing wii on my tv and then I hear a popping sound like the speakers popped or soemthing from my room. And then the TV has a geen and red blinking light and no picture. I try to turn on with the same results, a blinking green light with a red light as well.

After reading i'm pretty certain it's a dead lamp.

I was just curious if anyone had similar experiences with dlp r-projections?

I'm also curious if any of you have changed the bulb before, I see on the side there looks to be a lamp slide, so i'm assuming it's the same fundementals of a projector lamp replacement just looks to be a lot cheaper.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I have the 46" version of your tv. It sounds like lamp problems. It's easy to replace the lamp. It's in the manual. You simply unscrew the door with a hex wrench, loosen two screws that holds the lamp in place, then pull the lamp assembly out.

LED INDICATION
Green and Red blink continuously at 1-second intervals.
CONDITION
The lamp is not working properly

INDICATION
Green blinks continuously at 3-second intervals. Red blinks continuously at 0.5-second intervals.
CONDITION
The lamp unit door is not seated properly.

Yup, time to replace the lamp.

I swear ... DLP is awesome but if you watch a lot of TV/Movies the lamp replacements are a real strain on the wallet. You'd think they would have come out with a different and longer lasting lamp technology by now.

They probably have, but the lamps generate a consumables income akin to printers and inkjet carts. :p

Well, coming from an HD projector before this, i'm glad the lamps are only 200 bucks. My projector bulbs would cost in upwards of 500 bucks. Thanks for confirming what you guys think, now it's time to try to find bulb locally today or place order.

I'll do my good deed for Christmas. I bought my extra lamp from them with no problems.
