Hello everyone. I'm the new guy.
Anyway, I'm about to order a shitload of stuff from Newegg. My list consists of, but is not limited to:
Antec Performance Plus Grey SOHO case
Fortron 350watt PS
Abit NF7
HIS Hightech 9800pro (with that massive VGA silencer on it stock)
2x 512 Mushkin Blueline PC2700
Vantec Aeroflow CPU cooler
You see, I'm on a $700 budget. Roughly. I'm at about 730 right now. That's acceptable. I am torn between this 9800Pro (Likely to softmod to XT and overclock...) or get a single strip of 512mb Mushkin memory to keep the price down, and get that deal on the EVGA Geforce 6800.
I saw a post almost below mine where it's said the 6800 is comparable if not faster than the 9800xt (would have posted this there, but I didn't want to hijack his thread). Now, the the real question is, What would you do? A gig of good memory, or 512 and a better video card? It's gotta be one or the other for me....
Thanks a bunch!
Nick
