Just thinking of starting out with 2x 470's, with some stuff i got from before. Except hk, cpu and ram.. With my main rig running at night or daytime if im not using it. Mostly just thinking of the changes they will implement while i dont really understand them fully, but.. from what i do get, it will be much faster to mine, but ppl now have to pay in eth to mine? and they say, ppl with eth will kill all the other guys on the network? I do see i can mine ETC and i will actually end up with a full currency in a week. Do see they fluctuate a bit in value, but still more value mining ETH for now. But is it a bad idea to mine ETC? will it kick of or die of and ETH remain the king? Dont seem to popular atm but fair enough i guess, but i see i can profit quite a bit not as much as ETH but.

Just for fun really and i dont pay much if anything in electricity so, i could go bigger but maybe later. Have had it running here on my main rig just for fun and to get it running, but just getting a payout in ETH would take 100 years. But 35 ish mh/s, on of so much hardly seems like any point. Not to me anyway. 50-60 with the rx's isnt miles more but.. with my main rig in a year it's a chunk either currency.

im trying to fully understand what your saying here.

are you saying that with your 2x 470's your projecting you will get 1.0 ETH in 30(ish) days?

a few changes are coming that I'm aware of though I did not see any days.
  • change in amount of GPU memory from 2.4gb to > 3.0gb
  • going away from POW mining (to POS) which typically means GPU's are no longer able to mine

I could / would be wrong and just like any other coin.. this info needs more than one confirmation (the first being mine).

At current price ETH is very profittable, but it will take about 5 months at current difficulty to get 1 ETH.

Use Unified XMR-Stack to mine ETN on Nanopool, the minimum payout is 100ETN.
Won't take long, let your CPU participate, and you will get there just that much faster.

Will need a Cryptopia account to exchange ETN to LTC or ETH that you can withdraw
to Coinbase. But that also takes care of obtaining an ETN wallet. And you get a bunch
of other strange wallets to use for later experiments.

Be aware you are going to get charged by both exchanges, but it is the fastest way
for new miner with limited equipment to put some actual USDollar in thier bank.

Cryptopia charges almost nothing to exchange, but big to withdraw or send.
If you want ETH, you have to exchange ETN to LTC to ETH, but almost free.
Then sending ETH to anywhere outside of Cryptopia is where it costs you....

Coinbase charges big for any exchange, but nothing to withdraw or send.
You need Coinbase to get real dollars out. I think once you have Coinbase,
you can upgrade to GDAX and then the exchanges are more reasonable.
Plan your cashout strategy accordingly.

which shows 2x 470 will net 0.207 ETH in 30 days.

What I’m getting at, is there are many coins to mine. Eth doesn’t matter, in fact it doesn’t matter what you’re mining. Mine the top and sell for whatever you really want. If it’s only a few cents away from what you want, then mine the coins you want.

That’s a little confusing sorry.

no i was thinking of the ETC ethereum classic, that is idk like 5.0 etc a month or smth. but less value.

EXP, PIRL, ETP, MUSIC, UBIQ all Ethash and mine like ETH, but more profitable than ETC.
Surely you can find a pool that pays a low enough theshold, but has enough power that you
aren't waiting too long finding a block instead...

Might try this one: http://pool.expanse.tech
I've never mined Ethash Expanse, so this recommendation could be complete BS....
Never Mined, no pun intended. If you prefer payment in ETH, EPX is exchangeable
on Cryptopia and Bittrex. The Ethash coin of the moment, could be a different scene
tomorrow. Once you start mining toward a pool's threshold, you are trapped, or lose
all rewards for prior work.

ETN I can vouch for quick reliable pay, but its a completely different algo, Cryptonight.
If you want CPU to help you quickly reach a payout threshold, its hard to beat ETN.
A Ryzen7 CPU is very close to an RX470 in ETN mining power. i5 about half that...
My Ryzen7 and an i3 together pay $8.50 100ETN about every two or three days...
Would be much faster for you with a pair of RX470's plus any random CPU.

Cryptopia's minimum withdrawal fee might be higher than that, so you are still
going to be trapped for awhile. Check both LTC and ETH, no telling which way
out of Cryptopia will have the lower fee on any given day.

Also consider the possible advantage of not being paid. Raise your payment threshold
until you see a price you are willing to sell for, only then lower it. You might simplify taxes
by avoiding capital gains and losses of coins you are holding for more than a day. Cash
everything out as income though one measurable observeable chokepoint Coinbase.

If you prefer to stockpile coins, and pay the gains, I understand. But another reasonable
investment might be to expand your mine, buy that pair of 1080ti you always wanted, etc...

Big fan of PIRL right now, it had a dramatic increase in price today and its easy to mine and get into. Its very solid for being in beta and still only 3-4 months old. I'm going all in on PIRL at this point and hoping for a solid return over the next year.

i still dont understand what is going to happen with eth tho lol. seems like it is up and down what is better profits but seems like eth is mostly better choice.... but what in like 1-2 years time. sitting on alot of etc or 3 eth coins. i guess quantity dont mean a whole lot but quality. i did order this 2x nitro + 470's.. going to take a while to make a profit either choice. but with no fee's +++ it get double of what i will pay back in a year.
