How hot is too hot for a video card to be running? I was getting some weird graphical errors in a lot of games with my brand new x800 XL, so I downloaded EVEREST to see the temp. right now sitting manily at idle, the GPU temp is 49C. is that a bad thing?

can that test even be trusted? i never installed any temperature probes...

that isnt a bad temp persay, could be cooler, are you overclocking? maybe thats why your getting errors? if your overclocking, lay back on the core a bit......if not, move your computer around to find a good place in your room to keep it well ventalated

definitely not overclocking. Maybe ill drill a hole in the side for a fan so it can blow directly on the gpu? would what make much of a difference?

after playing CS:S for about 10 minteus, the temp goes up to low 70s. Would a fan on the side help enough?
