Just got myself a manchester 3800+ x2 with the asrock dual sata2 agp/pci-e mobo.

Was planning to overclock as i'd heard good things and i'd always had good enough results for me just using stock heatsink. So I used the aluminium heatsink and fan from my old amd64 2800+, set her all up, only bios change from default so far is I disabled cool'n'quiet.

But she's idling at 45 degrees, and after 30 mins of gaming (not even 100% load according to task manager) she's getting over 62 degrees. Bear in mind this is all at stock settings. That's a problem right? Is the heatsink not enough for an x2? The fan is working, seems to be always over 3000 rpm.

go with a new hsf... i would suggest a coper one.. maybe zalman..

but like second poster said.. reseat the hsf make sure its sitting on the cpu flat. use a flashlight if you have to...

If you have CPU SMARTFAN enabled then try turning that off and see what your temps are like. I found that my X2 was running much hotter with it enabled.
