Too hot for comfort

Earlier this week I built my AMD Athlon 64 3700+ system, but after checking my processor temperature yesterday I think it's running too hot. (after I shutdown my computer for the day). It was around 56C, now that seems to be too hot for comfort. I'm kind of puzzled by this because I have a pretty good cooling system. I have two intake fans and one outtake fan towards the back of the case. I’m starting to think I put the thermal paste on wrong.

For whatever reason the day I applied the thermal paste I didn’t start up the computer. Instead I simply securely attached the heat sink/fan and said to myself “That’s it for today, I’ll startup the computer tomorrow.” That may be the reason right there I’m not really sure. Anyway below is the list of the case and thermal paste I’m using.
