too cluttered

use http://ourworld.cs.com for pics (Have to use AIM login; don't worry CS (CompuServe) is part of AOL)

Then when the pics are hosted, take that URL and put it in the
tags....you know the dril :)

what do u mean put them on the other side of the case? i cant really figure out how u did it from ur pic. also it looks like ur hard drive doesnt have any eide cables or molex connectors hooked up

He put the cable behind the mother board tray, i wish i could of done it like that, but would need to dremel out chassis parts, looks hella clean though.

he mounted the hard drives backwards, its very effective if you can do that.

User Name, you did an awesome job, almost looks wireless.

only thing that stopped me from doing that is the cheapie holdover case i bought doesn't have a ton of room behind the mainboard tray. here's mine now, i don't know how anyone can stand to have a big rats nest of wires.

Gone now are the floppy and the large sound card, both of which to go back in when they stop causing hardware conflicts. I haven't had time to putz with it for a while.

ok i get it. thats really really good, ima try it this weekend and see if i can duplicate what u did. did u use tape or hooks to keep ur power supply wires fastened to the top of ur case?

also i understand that ur ide cables ur tucked under ur motherboard, but howd u get it from ur ide controller to the ur hard drive?

Ok he most likely cut holes in his motherboard tray... then ran all the ide cables from the mobo, thru the holes in the tray.. along the back of the mobo tray into another hole he probably cut, then under the 3.5 drive bays, to the backmounted hd's.

U just need to be creative.. dont let what u see limit you on your wiring. Spend about 1 hr just laying out what you want to do, it makes it easier then just going right at it. You also will most likely need molex extentions to get that look, maybe even y adapters.

sleeve em or wrap em and get shorter rounded cables. Do it quickly! :D

Yes please do something quick. Mine was bad before too, I just got some sleeving and went to town. Its still not as clean as I would like but so be it.

The pic is a bit old (new Vid card and HSF since this pic)

compared to user names case, even those with loom and sleevings look like a den of iniquity!!

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i see i see. looks like i gotta project this weekend. whatd u use to cut it? ima have to use a butter knife or somethin.

User Name, I bet it's a real pain in the ass when you ever have to upgrade anything or change stuff around. I couldn't do that with any of my computers because I'm always swapping parts back and forth. That does look awesome as hell though. Props.

wires_small.jpg

My setup is similar to User Name's, only mine's painted inside and I have a hole for my front panel wires

Its a pain to make look really good, but its worth it

using image tags... like

[IMG ]yourlink[/IMG ]

but without the spaces after the "G"

I haven't had the patience to cut my back panel to hide wires, so I do the best I can stuffing them in nooks and wiring them clean as possible, works for me.
