Tom Hanks and partner announced the soon to be released internet based animated series called “Electric City”. The success of this foray back into digital episodes may entice more major players back into the field.

After several more years of development, “Electric City” has evolved into an animated series that will be shown on the Web in 20 three-minute installments, and will focus on socially conscious themes like energy consumption and the freedom of information. Among his creative models for the project, Mr. Hanks cited the original 1960s television incarnation of “Star Trek,” which he called “an awfully good adventure” with “a bunch of cool stuff that you can latch onto.”

Hanks:
It hasn’t degenerated into an Orwellian society — just the opposite. ... Mr. Hanks said he had the idea for “Electric City” nearly six years ago, imagining it as “a very gripping, almost film-noir, very serious look at a future that was not a dysfunctional dystopia that an awful lot of the future things are.”

So the government respects human rights, the rule of law, transparency, and strives for a well-educated citizenry?

It's not as bad as it could be, but some of that is bread and circuses to sedate the masses.

"What would you like to eat today? Oh, I'm sorry James. The goverment released new ideal-weight specifications for your height, ethnicity and bone structure class. You are now 3 kg overweight. This morning, you will be having oatmeal."

I think if you showed the citizen waking up and getting out of bed, that would be about 3m inutes long right :D?
