So I woke up this morning to a nice aroma of warm electronics all over the house. Turns out my new Corsair TX750W has a defective fan controller or something. The fan was not spinning and the power supply was super hot to the touch and was probably about to melt down. It started spinning if I kick started the fan, but then it stopped again a minute later. Can anyone recommend a better brand power supply? I think its totally dumb they do not provide a 3 pin connector so I can monitor the power supply fan. So for now my MainRig in my Sig is down, and this was the one I get the majority of my Folding PPD from.

The TX750 is not a bad PSU, you just got unlucky with the fan controller or so dying. RMA time?

I'd recommend the Seasonic X-series 750 Watt version if you really want something that is better :)

I have the RMA process started. So I'll just do that and give this one another shot.

Thanks for the input all.

yeah trust the corsair 750tx is a really good PSU. I have one myself. you just got unlucky it happends and nothing is flawless. RMA it and maybe a suggestion is when your sleeping turn your pc off.

My TX750 is really loud. It drives me mad.

In your case, with Corsair you get a 5-year warranty so go RMA it.

I run dual GTX260's with the fans on 90%. Pretty sure I won't even hear that PS. :D
My case kinda sucks tho. I was thinking about a quieter case. I don't mind the white noise of a fan humming in the background. I've gotten use to it I guess.

Got my RMA approved, and I'll be sending my PS back tomorrow.
