to upgrade or not?

I have a Athlon 64 3200 overclocked to 2.5 Ghz
2 gigs of crucial pc3200 ram
Geforce 7900GT
Ok now that we have that out of the way. I'm thinking about upgrading to an Athlon 4200 X2. My question is will I see a noticable difference?

I was going to get at Geforce 7950GT but now I think I'm gonna wait for the 8800gto's price to come down some.

What do you think?
 
First, it always depends on what you do. Either way, unless it OC's a bunch better than your current CPU, you'll probably see an improvement, but nothing that's gonna blow your socks off. I'd consider the Opteron 170 for the same price if you're gonna buy something.
 
Well I mostly play games. Right now I'm playing Dungeons & Dragons Online, but I also play games like Battlefield 2, Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter etc...

I also use Photoshop and Dreamweaver for web design.
 
I have an Asus A8N-E mobo. On Asus's site it doesn't mention the Opteron, do you guys know if my mobo supports the Opteron.
