I just got done rebuilding my dad's PC. I noticed I had an extra power supply in my closet that I haven't used in ages. So I took it out and I saw it had extra watts on it and its amps are up across the board 3.3V to the 12V range compared to the PSU. Now, that PSU my dad has been using all along served him fine. Just fine for little over a year now. No problems so far. The second PSU is what I don't know about. I actually got it free from someone who didn't need it.

Power Supply Brand - Watts - Ratings (3.3V/5V/12V)
Raidmax - 350 - 16A/25A/14A
Powmax - 400 - 28A/30A/25A

Obviously I should go for the Powmax which seemed much more attractive but here's the problem. Raidmax is much more heavier than the Powmax. Generally heavier equates to better quality, wouldn't it? This is what kills me. How should I go about this?

That choice is like choosing between death by arsinick or cyanide... either way you're gunna die! Heavier definitly equates to higher quality. And also Raidmax is a little better on the scale of bad PSUs, IMO, so i'd go for it. But really, for the sake of the life of your components, get a quality unit. You can get a 350w Fortron for <$50.

Haha, definitely. I would. But since it came with the case he bought off custom built from a company AND since it RAN fine, it'll have to do (for now). Thanks for the tip though, off to completing it. :)
