great case... but only thing that holds me from pullin the trigger on one of these bad boys is wiring!

anyone have tips, or pics of their best wiring job inside an TJ09?


can you also reverse mount the hd to hide the wires on the other side?
 
Honestly, wiring in this case is not that hard. I just posted some pics of my TJ09 in the Silverstone gallery, note that I only spent around 1 hour wiring the case. There is tons of room, and thus tons of places to hide wires... if you spend the time, you'll have a great, clean looking system!
 
Another thing. Most people tend to run all the wires through the middle of the case, DON"T DO THAT! Silverstone includes extension cables for the top mounted USB, Firewire, and mic/headphone jacks for a reason. I run most of my wires around the outer edges of the case, thus making the center look clean and not cluttered. Another thing you have to remember is that the window on the TJ09 is not that big, so once the sidepanel is on, you won't see half the wires anyway...

I tried reverse-mounting the HDDs, but it didn't work for me.

Of course, it was a one-shot thing; off-hand, I can't precisely remember why that experiment didn't work as well as I'd wanted, but I suspect it's due to the proximity of the cable attachments to the right-side panel (there's simply no room).

I echo NV-Man's opinions and advice. As with most any case, it takes a lot of pre-visualization and planning to execute a good wiring job.

(Mine wasn't great, I have to admit.)

I didn't get any extension cables with my case. Wonder if you don't get them in the UK.

One thing I like with this case is that you can run cables up the channels on each side of the fan and there are a few holes at this point to anchor cable ties.
 
Really? That's weird... The extensions for the aforementioned cables make them a good 10" longer, making cable management much easier!
 
It is weird now you mentioned it, I'd never thought about it before. It can't just be that they were missed out of my case as it is my second one and neither of them had extension cables. I had to RMA the first case due to none of the front ports working.

Do you know if it's possible to buy the USB extension leads seperately?

Update

I emailed Silverstone in Germany about this and they replied saying that they would send me an extension cable.
