Ok so i have a tj09 and a silverstone strider 750w.
I've had two of these psu in the last year with faulty fans.

Now, in the tj09 you can have the psu facing downwards, sucking in cold air from outside the case. Or, you can have it facing upwards.

The first psu i had facing downwards until i could hear the fan rattling, so i flipped it over to lessen the noise.

The new psu i received, after the rma, i had facing downwards but decided to eventually flip it over. After listening closely, this fan is also rattling.

So today I called silverstone to see if i could get an advanced rma and the guy told me,"having the psu face downwards puts more pressure on the fan bearings."

Is this true that the psu fan can go bad from having it face downwards? Has anyone with a tj09 experienced this problem?
I dont see why, almost every, silverstone case offers the choice to have the psu facing out of the case if it will damage the psu fan.

I have had a TJ09 for years and have always put my fan facing down. I am on my third build in this case and have had no issues. I have also used three different PSUs. My current is in my sig.

Even when you put your ear to it while its running? You dont hear even a slight rattling noise?

Im really trying to figure out if both psu fans went bad because of the placement or if its just a shitty fan.

i sometimes get rattling in the drive cages and a top fan of my TJ09 depending on my build, but never from the psu area.

is your psu facing downwards?

and its definitively the fan bearing because if i take the psu out and spin the fan with my finger i can hear the rattling.

the fan was fine when i first got the psu, but not to long after i heard the rattling.
i don't see how two can go bad in less than 6 months but i also don't see how making the psu face down would "put more pressure on the fan bearings and damage them". as silverstone told me.
