TJ07 Impressions?

Ok I see what the issue was. The two PSU holes on the plate are not same on both sides. One has thicker border. It's difficult to explain but basically everything is ok and it was user error on my part :p

PSU would not have got damged due to hanging from 4 screws for 1hour? Jeez I am so paranoid with this PCbuilding thing :(

Don't worry, I'm exactly the same way when I built mine. :) Something about 800 dollar CPUs and 600 dollar GFX cards that make you want to be careful... :p

Add to that the $490 PSU and the nervousness of building my 1st ever PC. Having all parts on table apart from the CPU (delivery date got postphoned) does not help the nervousness :p :D
 
FYI, I just finished 7v modding every fan in the case and the difference in noise level is astounding. The case isn't dead silent but its vast improvement over running the stock fans at 12v!

Also, anyone running SATA drives in a TJ07 owes it to themselves to order SATA cables with 90 degree connectors on one end.

I ordered the 90° SATA data cables. The SATA power cables are attached to the PSU so can't do anything about it.OR can I?
 
People in this thread have been saying the stock fans are too loud. Could someone who owns this case (or not :p) recommend some 92mm and 120mm fans to replace them with? Been a long time since I bought case fans. :/
 
Heh, I don't think the stock fans are loud at all. If they were twice as loud, I still wouldn't find the noise offensive. Beside, my 5.1 sound drowns them out anyway.

Don't bother replacing the fans, just 7v mod the existing fans. Super easy to do, free, plenty of flow and the case is very quiet. Plenty of cooling power too, here's what I have in my TJ07:

3.2GHZ p4
6800GT
1GB RAM
2x 15k SCSI drives
4x SATA drives
LSI 320-2x raid card
9550SX sata raid card
M-audio sound card
 
The TJ07 fans are VERY silent. I replaced my TJ07 fans with louder and much more powerful YS tech fans :D
 
SPCR says stock fans are loud. So if your other system is quiet performance , stock fans will be loud for the users.

Just a few questions for you: First, how do I volt mod? Any links to a guide? Two, how did you handle your wires/wire management? Three, did you need to buy an extension cable for your PSU? Thank you for your advice and help.
 
Sure. 7v modding is cake, especially if you have some molex Y-connectors lying around. Check out:

Here's a few pictures of my existing system. I haven't even started on wire management yet, so it's still a big mess. Also, I finally gave up on running SCSI, it's just too loud for use in an audio-production environment.

I was able to use the included 2nd-PSU-adaptor to extend the cable from my Seasonic S12 PSU. When I'm finished with the wire management, I'll be running the PSU cable and adaptor behind the motherboard so it's out of sight. Also, take a look at those SATA connectors and you'll see how much nicer the 90 degree connectors work in this case.

I really am amazed at how quiet this system is. With all the fans 7v modded, you would never believe there are 9 fans (1 PSU + 1 6800GT + 1 CPU + 2 HD fans + 2 intake fans + 2 exhaust fans) in this case! I've had 3-fan systems louder than this.
 
Nice system. Aren't the fans on the top and back competing with eachother though( ie. causing turbulent flow)?
 
If there's turbulent flow issues, they aren't readily apparent. Remember, the two 92mm units in the back are actually intake fans, while the two 120mm units at the top are exhaust fans. I've actually been thinking about disabling the exhaust fan closer to the intakes to play with the flow and quiet things down a touch further (not that it needs it). Since I'm not running this system overclocked and since each rack of drives has it's own 120mm fan blowing air over them and out the other side, internal case temps and CPU temps are easy to deal with.

Pretty much the only crappy thing about this arrangement is that there's no real airflow over the graphics card, other than what it pulls in from the grill area at the back. When I switch to a new graphics card, I'll probably snag one of those coolers that pulls in air directly from the back of the case.

Also, having the intake fans at the back actually works well for me, since I have a window right above the case and it's generally cracked open, allowing cool air to stream directly down to the intake fans.
