Tivo uk HTPC

Hi all,

as the title may suggest I am planning to turn my Tivo UK box into a HTPC, the Tivo already has a hard drive in there for storing recorded TV and a HD capable tuner card, so that just leaves the "guts" of the machine

I am planning to take out the mainboard and drop a intel board right in its place with a little rejigging of the I/O panel, after that it is just a case of CPU, and RAM, I will be using a mobo and CPU with on board HD graphics

can anyone let me know if this is going to be as easy as it seems and if it will at all work? I plan to hook up the Tivo's tuner card to my antenna for freesat and (hopefully) I will be able to get a slim dvd player in there to

the other thing I wish to ask is if the Tivo's tuner card will work in this manner or does it need the Tivo's mainboard to function?

almost certainly in the "not gonna happen" department as there's a near 100% chance that the tivo's tuner is soldered onto the board and not accessible.

OP, if you already have a Tivo, what are you trying to do with the HTPC?
