Titanfall Video Preview

I must be in the minority but most of the time I look for servers that have a small number of players (12-16) as opposed to the random nonsense that occurs on 64 player servers.

My fondest gaming memories took place in BF1942 and it's Desert Combat mod. When I later tried BF3 it just didn't feel the same.
 
I have not really been following this game all that much. I too have to admit that every time I see a new video I get less interested. It may turn out to be a really fun game. I do not see me playing this on day one though. I agree with Nokia, it seems overly hyped for what it is. I will wait until after it is released and see what people say. I can easily wait. This is not a title that I am sitting on the edge of my seat for, especially since the commentator said that it "plays better" with a controller. If it does not play well on the PC, I will immediately forget about it.

The small number of players do not bother me either. I too look for small servers when playing BF. I feel like there is more strategy and the combat is more "personal".
 
This seems like Call of Duty (which I'm not a fan of) with robots. It's also EA which makes me even more hesitant.

I like the concept but without any depth, meh...
 
Not really getting all of the hate. It looks like Call of Duty with mechs, which as far as I know is exactly what was promised.

Glad I wasn't alone in thinking this looked bad. Heard so much hype about the game and was really interested and then I saw the vid.

One guy who said if he didnt know what game it was he'd think it was a free-to-play shooter was spot on.

That's too bad.
 
looks like COD mechanics / gameplay to me. I didnt have sound for the video since Im at work...so you get a mech after so many kills or something??....like COD killstreaks?
 
I have been dying to play a hyperkinetic game for months ( the last ones that I played were Forge & Max Payne 3 multiplayer )... like over a year ago.

I like the visceral graphics, art direction & randomness of the burn cards.

Two things bother me - when the guy said that it feels like a "controller game". The AI video in post # 12 bothers me too.

I'd love to see an AI that can roll me. The last time that I saw that was Master of Orion 2... you know... back in 1996.
