Got a couple of questions regarding titan quest...

1.Is it fun and does it have really updated graphics compared to diablo 2?

2.Big community? Like with guilds and other players playing the game over and over?

3.Hardcore mode? And what is it like?

4.LOOT!? Is the loot table like diablo 2? Socketed weapons and armor? And how is looting like in this game? ie.point and click to pick up gear and coin. Currency big in this game?

5.Hacks and cheats.....are there alot of cheaters riddled in this game in multiplayer?

Well thanks for anyone helping me out on my Q's. Reason for the questions im thinking of picking up the game because i really love diablo 2 but its quite old now and would prefer the next step up from there.

I hope this game is really big in the multiplayer department. If its just good in single player i wont pick it up :( . Anyways thanks again.

found a message board on titan over at ign seems people run trainers for this game guess im back to diablo 2 atleast battle.net/blizzard watches for that shit

1. Played it on and off all sunday, I love this game. You can get the gold off steam for only 20$. But to short answer, yes its fun and YES the graphics own compared to D2.

2. I suppose i dont play it online just on LAN w/fam&friends

3.It has different levels of diffcuilty just like d2, you have to bet each one to unlock the next.

4.Identical as D2, but it seems in normal difficulity you get better items sooner then d2, which i love. Cause d2 you can play for hours and only pick up one or 2 rare weapons. In titan quest you can pick up possibly 3-4 in 30-45min. Currency is manily used for potions, and to unlearn unwanted skills so you can put the points to something better. Also there is a carvan guy will store items for you (think stash in D2) but you can also put it in a transfer spot in the carvan so you can enter the game with another char and get items from him. 2 different types of charms that can be inserted into weapons/rings/armor. One type is from animals/creatures, another is more powerful that you get from chests/bosses.

5.Dont know dont play online.

from what you are describing im already hooked, its just the multiplayer thing i was hoping it was like diablo 2 sorta like battle.net . I saw on the ign forums about people using trainers which is a no go for me i hate cheaters...

Unfortunately no, it doesn't have Hardcore mode.

It has a pretty big community site right here: www.titanquest.net - which is all you need community-wise.

It has a more joyful and relaxed mood compared to diablo wich is more dark and sinister. I personally like both.

Multiplayer sucks because players host and join games themselves like in a FPS game and cheating is rampant, but you should definitely throw the 20 bucks at it and try it out for yourself and see.

Seems like you want the same from the game as I did and the same reasons made me quit. Unfortunately multiplayer sucks for the reasons i posted above.

Btw I should add that the armor visuals sucks as well, when you've found the best gear you still look half-naked and cheap.

Battle.net, the better itemization and the option for hardcore mode make D2 the more entertaining game for me.

Oh, if fair multiplayer is alpha and omega for you then don't pick it up

yeah your right on d2 im gonna have to pass just for the fact of rampant cheating. I seriously thank you all for answering my questions but again gonna have to pass...

Titan Quest is made for LAN multiplayer. Joining a public game is stupid due to cheating. Just find some friends who like D2 and have them pick up Titan Quest. Its a great game so dont let the multiplayer issues make you change your mind because its not an issue if you play LAN. The games are run on YOUR computer so there is no Bnet to 'ban' the cheaters.

I bet the Diablo 3 announcement has boosted Titan Quest's sales quite a bit. I know it caused me to buy it.

Me and a friend picked up this game but are trying to figure out the best way to play together?

Is there a way to link up by just external IP's like D2? I cant figure it out

set your strength to 100,000, get a big mace, cast colossus, and pretend you're sauron as you swing your mace and enemies fly up into the air :p

Use Hamchi (lan over internet) its free you can get it from logmein.com

You can create a "network" password it your friend joins, and then you both go into the game and act if you would if u were connected on a same physical network. Bam! you can game together no matter were you are.

Has anyone played this multiplayer on Vista? Everytime I try to join/host a server it says "Network Problems Detected." This is on Vista x32.

It works fine on XP, and there are several instances of this error online but nobody seems to have a fix, with the common link being Vista.

Titan is one of the best single player games I've ever played The graphics seriously own. I didn't play Diablo though I heard it's the same as that but with 10x better graphics.

This thread made me want to play TQ again. I hadn't played it much when I bought it.
Now I remember why. Maybe this is something that can be fixed?

I get the video stuttering and lagging. It wasn't too bad the first couple of hours. Now my character is at level 10 and it is happening more and more frequently. Does not seem to matter if I re-boot system or play with graphic settings. It can stutter when there are a lot of charcters on the screen or when I am alone running through a field.

I have no such problems wth other games like BF2 or COD4. My specs are in my sig. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Unfortunately the stuttering and lagging (often referred to as the rubber-band effect on the Titan Quest boards) was never fixed. The dev team of Titan Quest has disbanded so unfortunately the chances of it being corrected are unlikely. Hopefully the fan made patch will correct this in the future.
