Here's a project that I put together for my wife...

One of my last jobs had a bunch of old broken VAIO laptops. I was able to disassemble them and combine the parts into one working laptop. In the end, it isn't that useful because the base config has only 64MB of memory and is only expandable to 128MB. Add a new paintjob, and I present the "Furball" laptop:

(For those who don't know, Tiny Toons was a brilliant cartoon with younger knock-off characters of the classic Warner Bros characters. Furball was the mute Sylvester the cat wanna-be. Anyway, it's a great show and a crime that it's not available on DVD.)

*claps*

Very nice, mind telling me what brand of paint you used and do they make hot pink?

Thanks.

I used American Accents (Rustoleum made, I think) in a color called "Rosewood". I do think they make a hot-pink type color, but I'm not overly implressed with it though. Kinda hard to work with and goes on a little thick for my tastes. I kinda prefer auto-type paint such as duplicolor.

yeah, its hard to find the auto paints in colors like this though most of the time.

Any plans for an alt lappy for you, maybe Dizzy Devil or Calamity Coyote?

No plans for an alternate laptop. I do have other projects in the works, but back to "normal" mods (as if such a thing exists).

Here's the last bit of the mod. It's a medium-sized box to accomodate all the laptop accessories.

The accessories: power charger, CDROM, external battery charger and a couple batteries, and port replicator

It all fits!

The laptop even fits on top

And for those wondering, the picture on top is a nice picture of Furball and it says "Furball Laptop: Happiness is a warm lap". Kinda a double-meaning too because the laptop gets REALLY hot with use...

Nice laptop. I actually like it.

On the other hand though, that show sucked IMO. So did Tom & Jerry Kids.

Hmmm... are you sure? Tiny Toons rocked, but there's the crappy baby looney tunes show which does suck. The characters from baby looney tunes look VERY like the tiny toons characters... but certainly don't act like them.

Tiny Toons totally rocked. one of my all-time fave cartoons. bigger pictures would be great. i'd like the detail, WINK.

No, I'm sure. Tiny Toons, Baby Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry Kids all sucked.

Pretty much all the cartoons from teh early to mid 1990's sucked. Of course I watched most of them and back when I was a kid I liked them. But trying to sit down now and watching them they suck.

I love cartoons, but those three just irritate the hell out of me.

I really do like the laptop the color is awesome.

and the reason you don't like those shows any more: you grew up. well, not entirely. you aged, but not matured. here, take a look at this:

if you show that to a kid who enjoys watching Tiny Toons, he/she'll see a picture of 9 dolphins. you didn't see 9 dolphins right off the bat, right? and you probably have trouble seeing 9 dolphins. adults that like watching Tiny Toons will have less trouble seeing 9 dolphins in the picture.

HA HA HA
I scrolled down to this a viewed it before reading any posts (even yours :p) I just thought you were posting a helpful idea
Took me a bit to see dolphins
:D

lol, took a little, but I saw them...lol.

back in the day, the show was pretty good. fun too watch, but now it's been too long.

For higher-res pics, go to my website XKILL mods, click on the "mods" button, then click on the laptop picture.

WARNING: I only have a DSL line, so the full-res pics can be a little slow to load - but they WILL load...

Is it wrong that I could see the Dolphins at the same time I could see the two people making out?

I saw both immediately.

I dunno, I like the older Looney Tunes especially stuff done by Bob Clampit. I love Invader Zim. Sponge Bob is ok, I really have to be in the mood for it though. Teen Titans is awesome, the old Batman series is good, Courage the Cowardly Dog is funny as hell though hard to catch nowadays.

I still enjoy watching cartoons but, it took me a very long time to locate all of the dolphins.

And Tiny Toons was an excellent show. The episode in which Plucky Duck wishes he was as smart as Albert Einstein and it turns out Einstein was an idiot in grade school, therefore, the duck was even less intelligent than before was gold Jerry, gold.
