Tiny Secondary Display - Recommendations?

Hey guys,

Recently, I've downsized from 3 screens down to my primary display in my signature, in pursuit of better audio. Loving it, but missing my HW monitoring :(

I'm looking for a tiny secondary display, one to take on almost strictly monitoring duties (OC stuff, temp, GPU/CPU usage, etc., maybe I throw a Twitch window over on there with a Counter Strike stream on it, etc) but here's the kicker:

- must be USB powered
- must take an HDMI in
- preferably one with a "kickstand" (worst case, I 3D print one, know some guys at work that could use it as a "calibration" exercise :D)

Ideally I'd like it around 12" in size or so, with enough resolution to be able to house GPU-Z, RealTemp, HW info, I think 1080p at the minimum would do the trick, 2K would also be fine.

Quick pick of the area and size I had in mind, ideally I'd like it to sit just to the right of my right speaker, next to my USB/HDMI on the side of my case propped up just nice. Run some 1' cables when I want to bring it out:

Any recommendations/experience you guys have on roughly 12" tablet sized USB powered displays?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply Baenwort , so what tablet do you run software on? I've seen the 7" tablets or there about's mounted inside the chassis, maybe I go that route instead. I do have dead space in this massive case I could better utilize and go with a more vertical full size monitor option.

I use old windows tablets when it is for someone else and my personal windows tablet when it is for me.

My tablet is a tough tablet from https://www.ruggedtabletpc.com/family-of-tablets-overview (I have the xTablet T8540 as it is IP67) and works well enough as a side monitor and as a bath tub Steam streaming end point. It also stands up to the kids and has a digitizer stylus that works well enough for my wife's drawing on the go. I like that it's always in use. We've had it for nearly 2 years now and it is still working.

I the beauty of using remote software control across your LAN is that you can use any cheap or handy to you device.

I like multipurpose unless it is something I use enough and exclusively. If I still gamed like I did before the kids I'd explore the hardwired monitors linked by DoubleTap.

There are tons of 10-13" LCD panels on Amazon that are USB powered and can take an HDMI input. It's hard to find objective information on them, but they seem decent for utilitarian uses.

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

I'm going to be looking into the tablet models first, and seeing what I could possibly find in the used market. Price-wise, the monitors linked by DoubleTap are about what I'm looking to spend. I agree, it's tough to see through the BS when browsing for low-end tech like this.

I do like the idea of a multi-purpose solution though, been forever since I've owned a dedicated tablet due to how much I'd think I'd actually use it. This might be the reason to get me back into using one.

The search continues.
