I hadn't really been following this at all until the past few days. Apparently, this fan project remake of the first three games has been in the works since 2012 and was caught in dev hell (including the team disbanding and starting over), so this release marks a major milestone in the project's development.

So far, the early access release that's now available to download includes the entire campaign from TimeSplitters 1 along with some challenge/arcade modes as well as multiplayer! There are plans to add the campaigns from TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect, making it a very ambitious project but one that is sure to please TimeSplitters fans if they can finish it. I haven't played this yet, but most people are saying that it's a really faithful remake so far...which is great, since this series was seemingly left to rot. Which may be OK. I have more faith in this fan project so far than I'd have in a AAA studio trying to do proper justice to TimeSplitters with a new game. I have extremely fond memories of TS2, particularly the multiplayer campaign. Was easily up there with co-oping the Halo 1 campaign, for me anyway.

Ya, I saw that thread but thought this deserved its own master thread in the gaming subforum (the normal format). Good to have one for the folks scouring for freebies too, though.

Not sure if many people here care about this series anymore but it's a really cool project!
