i dont know if this is the best place to post this but hopefully it will be...

anyways im currently running an old dell p4 first gen (vomit), and i've been looking into upgrading to either a new p4 or an a64 machine however i dont have that much cash. I was wondering if now would actually be a good time to upgrade or if i should wait till things drop in price or new standards come out? or if i should just say screw it and get something that isnt a total piece of junk? Also what are peoples opinions on the A64 and p4 offerings right now keeping in mind a pretty low price point?

thanks for any help you can offer.

how much can you spend? 500 or 1000 or may be even 200. it all depends how much you want to spent

i was thinking about spending around 400-500 dollars and i need a power supply and a case (which i can get a pretty good one for not too much from a friend of mine). SO im looking at cpu, ram, psu, motherboard and any extra cooling or whatever that might be handy
