I am looking to build a new rig but this time I am going to use the FS/FT forums here on [H]. I was originally going to build a monster rig but have decided that I really don't need that anymore. My rig will be stuffed inside the Lian Li PC-V355B. I will remove the optical drive - no real need for one - have an external USB if really ever do need one. I will probably modify the HDD cage to save room as well. I currently use the LG 29EB73-P 29" 21.9 and game at 2560 x 1080 but at some point I will upgrade to the 34" LG big brother or grab a nice 30" display. I want to be able to play everything with all the bells and whistles turned on. I was looking at basing the motherboard off the ASUS Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011 (saw one as low as $85 with a missing clip) but am not sure about which CPU. Given the smaller case size I thought Nvidia would be the way to go because of heat output. Would a single 780ti be enough to push those resolutions or would it need SLI? I am not opposed to AMD but damn those prices and from what I have read they are a furnace.
