Time to beg.

We all belong to various forums. Probly won't get any love at the OCAU forums  . We still need to ask, beg, or plea, for more teammates. I've done this at Divx.com. See thread here:

http://forums.divx.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=782106&f=511101651&m=823103442&r=622108442#622108442

As a Divx Master, I'm not ashamed to beg for more teammates. These folks got some of the fastest computers on earth, absolute requirement, unless you want to wait days to process a video. Phunky_Monkey is one of the Mods over there, and ranked 56 on our team :D . Got a couple of bites. I'd sure appreciate it if a couple of you folks could drop by and help just a tad.

Well somebody has to post something here... Title kinda makes me think of my ex girlfirend...

Sorry to say Leadman that most of us that are here in this forum regularly have already beat that horse to death. Unfortunatly. Any other forum I belong to has a team.
Still very good sentiment though!

I know we have all asked around. We are still getting new teammates that say they stumbled onto folding by accident. That tells me, we aren't visible enough. Anyone with a computer needs to be aware of F@H . A painless way to give. The biggest resistance I encounter, is that folks are afraid it will crash their systems. It sounds silly to us, but I meet a lot of people who can't surf the internet without crashing their computers. I work in a factory, and answer 5-10 computer related questions every day. The majority of you, most certainly also encounter folks with very little understanding of computers.

Most tech related sites also have their own teams. In most cases, more visible than our own team on this site. There are many sites however, where F@H has never even been mentioned. These are the one's we can try reaching.

I ask also for someone to help post in my forum, I don't have a team assembled for my site, the only team I belong to is Team33.

I beg for people to post on my site to drum up some support to fold for team 33. Please Private message asking for info.

I wanna reach the millions of mom's, and grandma's out there, that just wanna be able to surf for recipes, and play pogo at will. My mom (64 yrs. young), couldn't copy and paste a URL, if you stood there with a check for a million dollars, as a prize for accomplishing this feat. Mom's rig folds 24/7, but she doesn't even have administrative privileges on her own computer. What's really sad, is that she isn't even aware that I took those privileges from her.
I know there are others out there, that have established limited user accounts on their parents computers. I know at least a hundred people that would be unable to detect F@H on their systems. Now to get to those systems, and borg the crap out of 'em.

Holy shit leadman, you make a lot of posts over at divx. 1100 posts in two months?

I'll post this at another forum for you guys. ;) (EDIT: damn, only other forum I am active at has a team)

They set up a new server program in December. Everyone, Mods, employees, et al. have the same join date. Been a member for 3 or 4 years. Have hundreds of Divx encodes to my credit, or discredit in the case of some early work. I remember running Divx encodes on my old (very dead) 700MHz AMD rig, that took 30+ hours, to process a single pass. The programs, and my computers have gotten a lot faster since then.

Good deal. You know, they have forums for just about everything. Knitting, cooking, heck just about anything we can imagine. My mom's always chatting in the game rooms over at pogo, even mentions the folding, at least that's her side of it. She's my mom gotta take her word for it. Problem is, with those messages, they reach a microscopic audience. There are most certainly, vast resources, untapped, and unaware.

The problem always comes back to fear. 95+% of the people I work with, are barely capable of keeping their internet connections functional. Even the computers I've built for co-workers, and folded with, want it removed, before they pay. Folks barely capable of setting up their own E-Mail accounts, know somethings up, when the check task manager, and somethings using 99% of the CPU. Who's telling these people about task manager? Is there a way to stealth CPU usage? There are honestly folks, a lot of them, that don't want to be [H]ard. Just surf porn sites in peace. Surely, most of you service computers for family, friends, and co-workers. The most entertaining part of this endeavor is the cookies, histories, and temp files in these computers.

Maybe some of the folks up in arms over Stem Cell research, would be willing to kick in a few cycles for the cause. When they aren't porn surfing , of course.
