You can find your work-units time limits at http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html
After the final deadline is when you stop getting points for crunching a work-unit.
After the preferred deadline you still get points but Stanford reissues the work-unit for someone else to fold, so where possible get work back before the preferred deadline.
