I've hit the limit on my current proc. and I'm thinking about buying a mobile 2500 and giving that a try, current system is below

NF7S-v2
AthlonXP 1800+ 2400(200*12) 1.775v (37c under idle/40c under load from mbm)
1gig HyperX pc3200
9700pro (380/340)
etc.

cooling everything with a koolance pc2-650 case, not the best you can get for WC but It works well and I'm happy with it.

The proc isn't stable above 2450 at 1.775, but its also unhappy at 1.8v or above, so the question comes. Should i spend the $80 and by a mobile and give it a shot, or just sit on the $ and use it at a later point for a bigger upgrade. Not looking to drop major dime right now, just a incremental to keep a littele more up to date.
 
I'd personaly hold off, I mean the proc isnt to far out dated.

I use an 1800+ myself I have it locked and rased the fsb enough to get me to 2019mhz with 1.54 voltage still, and found it runs nice on most games when I had a 9800 pro with it.
 
s462 is pretty much dead for upgrades as far as you should be concerned... 2.4 ghz is pretty much what most people get with the mobiles, my 2600 mobile did 2.6 ghz but is it really worth 200 mhz?
multiplier overclocking does little for real world preformance.. get that fsb to 230 or so.. maybe even 250/260 240x10 would be nice
 
I can get the bus up to 230 or so, but only by using a cpc off bios. Performance increase wasn't that great and I had to increase the mem voltage to get it. I have a 512 stick of pc4000 hyperX around here, maybe I should get another and use those. <sigh> A sad day, this has been a good comp, maybe it's time to retire her and start new.
