Tiger direct = bad??

Well, posters at Fatwallet has nothing positive to say about Tiger Direct.
 
there was a thread here a while back, about buying at TigerDirect...Search for it, since i'm too lazy to.

however, i bought from TigerDirect, and i had no problem with them, pricing was adequete, and the reason i had to buy from 'em was b/c Newegg didn't have it...they had the lowest price available ^_^ (use www.pricegrabber.com)

Actually it was a sticky from Kyle IIRC. Anyway, I've only delt with Tiger Direct once, and it was with one of those recert deals. I ended up buying a recert Dell 1800FP, and while I did get the monitor, it had several dead pixels and scratches on the LCD itself. I returned it and got another that's working fine though.

TD might have ok prices, but also check their resellerrating, and more. They're BAD at returns / RMA's, you have to pay BOTH ways, registered return reciept ($$).
 
I've dealt with Tiger Direct a couple of times... never again. Thankfully my products showed up the way I expected them to, but the RMA I had to do was horrible! To add insult to injury, they sold my name!! I had spam and snail mail coming out my you-know-what.

I have a firm belief that if a company needs to sell your name to make a little more profit, I don't need to deal with them. End of story.

it came with no cd's, no cables, oh wait no, it came with an s-videocable... i dont even think the card supports s-video...
 
9000 pro has svideo output, if you got it with nothing chances are you ordered an oem

If its an oem card you're lucky they gave you a box hehe (well i suppose its required for shipping, but they could have used an envelope)

Every company has had complaints and un happy customers, all im saying is dont be so spoiled by newegg :D

I ordered a Koolance case from Tiger Direct a while ago, it came with a ton of scratches. I called the RMA department, was lied to a few times, they even charged my credit card for another case without telling me.

I posted on http://www.resellerratings.com, the next day I was contacted by Danny, a manager I assume? He fixed everything sent me a new one and I didn't have to pay shipping at all. UPS even picked it up at my house.

Needless to say, I still wouldn't purchase from them again. The regular customer service is horrible, not well trained, and lies. It's not worth the risk, I'd pay the extra $$$ and go elsewhere with standards for their customer service.
 
i for one have not purchased anything from tigerdirect.com yet and from all the great response that they have, i dont think i ever will be doing business with such a great company
 
Had a terrible problem with them when returning an entire computer. Will never order from them again. Their support was god awful and they needed much coaxing to take their pc back. This was of course more than a few years ago so they could have changed but I'm not likley to buy from them now to see. The egg is all i need ( newegg.com )

Yeah I had to do a double take too... I'm in the same category as ST|FFY, I ordered once and got it OK, but will never order from them again.

Even after hearing a lot of negative vibes about Tiger Direct several years ago I made the plunge and ordered something from them. True to form they screwed up the whole order process so I vowed to never again deal with them. I canceled their catalog, emails and haven't been back to their site since. On the other hand I have ordered hundreds of items from Newegg and they haven't screwed up one single time. Guess who gets all my money?

Screw Tiger Direct. I hope they go out of business.
 
I've only ordered from them once and it was nothing less of perfect. I got a Radeon 9100 PCI for $50 and I was here in 3 days. Nothing to complain about so far. Although I probaly won't be ordering from them again, newegg gets most of my business.
 
ohhhh i despise Tiger Direct so much.
I ordered a Recertified 21" Sony CPD G520

but i got a 21" beige (yellowed, surely a heavy smoker) Sony GDM-5402 monitor. I was so pissed !!! The same day i emailed them and I received a RMA# like 4 days later. I shipped to monitor back with their UPS account for free and they received it about 5 days later. It took 2 MONTHS before I got my money back. 2 MONTHS!! I was almost going to press charges.

NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They suck soooo much it's unbelivable. if you're in the USA use NEWEGG , andif you're from canada i suggest www.vibecomputers.com or www.ncix.com
 
I only ever bought 1 thing from them, a white box 56k modem a few years ago. I got what I paid for. Would I buy from them again? Prob not, theres other sites I've gotten excellent service from and would continue to do buisiness with, rather than try tiger a second time(especially after seeing stuff like this).
 
love em, they get things first and are cheaper

Thats more a compliment to newegg than anything else. They rock bro everyone knows that, im just saying not all companies are newegg.

I think the point is, why deal with others when there is newegg... If someone WILL spoil me, spoil away, I'm not going anywhere. :p
