i've been playing with overclocking my video card and recording the benchmark each time. so far i've got a best of 10236 out of it. heres the breakdown so far.

benchmark score core speed mem speed
9737 250(default) 500(default)
9837 270 520
10236 293 568

what do you guys think? how much more can i take my card up? thanks for any info.

Ive known many people who got thier 4200 running at 4600 speeds (300//600). What cpu/motherboard are you using anyway?

wonder how much more i can take it. i have plenty of cooling with 7 fans so heat shouldn't be an issue.

I've been running my year old 4200 at 290/567 for about 6 months now. Using the fanless (and heavy) zallman heat-pipe cooler. I probably could use some RAM sinks...

isnt 4600 speeds 300core and 650mem?
i couldnt get my ti 4800se to go past 270 and 560

well i could only run it up to 301/575 after that i either got lower scores or the screen kept freezing up.

Hum.. I overclocked my Ti4200 about a year ago and I noticed absolutely NO changes whatsoever.....

Maybe I did it wrong... (dont see how I could've..)

My old 64MB LeadTek GF4 Ti4200 would OC to 310.5MHz core 621MHz mem with stock cooling. Though, LeadTek usually does a pretty good job with their cooling solutions (too bad they only make nVidia cards... )

Whoa, some of you guys have some crazy ass Ti4200. My Ti4600 is OCed at 310/700. Never tried higher, but still, those Ti4200 are not bad at all.

I was using RivaTuner (don't remember which version) to OC the card and it was in my main gaming rig (in sig) before I got my Radeon. I suppose I just got lucky... After all, a key aspect of overclocking is simply luck of the draw--some are good, some are crap, and then there's the stuff in the middle. The card is in my little brother's gaming rig now, though.

i'm pretty happy with the ti4200. before it i had a 32m pci geforce card. boy is it a night/day difference between the two. i'll never go back to a pci card again and i only have a 4x agp slot.

cool thread ;x
i have a ti4200 also, what cooler would you guys suggest?

I used Coolbits and had my Ti4400 overclocked to 305/650 for about 6 months with stock cooling!

Both MSI 4200's (64MB) I've had run at 310-315/675 without problems using the stock hsf. I still don't understand it, but it works. Artifacts start somewhere in the 680's and the cards lock up between 725-730 ram. Both use the same 4ns Samsung memory. Back of card

EDIT:
3dmark03 with speeds verified
2001's results

Just go until you reach artifacts or instability (freezes or pausing). Then back it down a few notches.
