I can pick up this card as a temp card for a month and then it will go into my older 1.8ghz amd. So is this worth buying or should i just put that $40 to an 6800gt/x800 pro?

thanks

well 40 bucks could be diffrent for alot of people depends on what 40 bucks is worth to you. is a ti4200 worth $40 to you? sence you have a place for it to go once your done with it id say its not a bad way to spend $40

For 40 bucks its a steal!

As for putting an X800 Pro/ 6800GT in a 1.8GHz Amd.. I seriously advise against it ha!

thats where he plans to put the t4200 in a month... not a 6800GT the 6800 would go in his good system, atleast thats what i think he means

yeah that would be going in my good system and in my system im slowly assembling this summer now that 939 socket is out. But thanks for the posts so far....

Oh I didnt realize that. Anyways, depends on what you will be gaming in this month and if you will be gaming within the month. 40 bucks towards the X800 Pro/ 6800GT is ultimately your choice!

I would say suffer with whatever you have for a little longer and put the $40 to the GOOD card you end up buying.

$40 is a great deal on a ti4200. They are practically as good as the 9600pro/5700U. which cost way more.

And in that same price range all you can get is crappy 5200's 9200's etc.

They give good frame rates for some 1024x768 gaming. Dont plan on turning up the AA/AF (eyecandy) up a lot. But even at $80 they are the best cards out there.

Plus most overclock very well (to ti4600 speeds if you're lucky)
