Thumb Drive Won't Mount

I just started having this problem. I could insert my 256MB SanDisk Mini Cruzer and get the pop-up window of options, and the drive would mount in My Computer.

Now I insert it and all I get is the Windows sound and the device tray icon. When I go into the volumn properties, it's blank. And when I populate the volumn, it goes to drive H:, which is my personal drive on my school network. Sometimes I can double-click that drive and it'll instead pull up the contents of my thumb drive.

Any ideas?

Right click on my computer, hit Manage, goto disk manage, find your thumb drive, assign it a driver letter. THis prolly happened because you forgot to dismount it before removal, or you assigned a drive letter to another drive with the same letter as your thumb drive.

One last piece of extra info: although it still seems a little silly to me, considering USB should be as hot-swappable as a device can be, the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon that pops up when you insert a thumb drive is definitely a good idea.
