Any experience with Thrustmaster force feedback steering wheels on Linux?

I'm finding mixed results on both Logitech and Thrustmaster wheels with OS such as Mint, Nobara, Bazzite and CachyOS

Problem with some USB controllers is they are not always in HID mode which you have to plug it into a windows machine to switch it and I am still not happy with game controller people because they don't supply Linux nor Apple with this code. The Xbox controllers, they don't flash the firmware for HID comparability and you have to do that too.
A lot of these do have drivers, you just have to find them others will use HID++ drivers.
I just find it odd that people try the oddest versions Linux the only one that is somewhat mainstream in your list is Mint, which they take Ubuntu packages and update their system so they are always behind in code fixes. Lubuntu or Ubuntu Studio would be the versions I would suggest trying out since they have teams of people working on everything so you will find a lot of things that work automatically because of this or it works better in that distribution branch than the others. I use Ubuntu Distros (Xubuntu, Lubuntu, ubuntu studio) even though I use their alternative versions, they are still maintained just as good. I could install the main Ubuntu Distro, but I don't like the desktop and their default software packages and the alternative flavors start me out with software and a desktop I would have to install. Because I don't like the IOs look. A lot of times, people should just try a different desktop manager for their distro they want to try out, because sometimes the default one isn't always the best one that works well in the installation.

oversteer is a decent program. Its modeled off the joystick utility in Linux. The problem I run into from time to time with controllers is sometimes they load what available driver they find instead of the driver you need to use. Because some controllers have different modes and they might be in a hardware mode that doesn't work well and load the wrong driver. Problem is, there is little support software out there to help diagnose issues.
