I'm wondering if people can throw some cases or lineups to browse over. So far I've gone over all the Silverstones and Lian Lis I know of. And some Fractals.
Requirements -
Size wise it needs to be able to fit in this -
It can be overhanging the front and right side of course as long as it will be stable (for instance if enough surface area on the feet are still on the platform). Of course this will put some limitations in cooling, for instance if the height is right at the limit, top mounted fans are probably not going to be very effective. Or if it needs to be pressed to the left, left intakes won't be.
Planned Hardware platform would be -
2500k OCed (no heatsink in mind yet)
6950 (no future plans for dual cards)
No optical drives/5.25inch drives
2 HDs + 1 future SSD minimum
And possible upgrades along that class. So it should be able to fit longer expansion cards and larger coolers.
Budget -
Well I don't really have a strict budget, but I would like to go as low as possible. I really can't seem to bring myself to spend well over $100 when cases like the Fractal Design R3 ($100), Silverstone Precision series ($60-$80), Antec One Hundred ($65) and etc. are available. As that money instead could go towards the CPU, mobo, PSU, ram or even GPU. Though if its something awesome to spend $200 or more on, I will consider it.
Preferences -
- clean, elegant type design (Fractal Define R3 for instance)
- white/silver type color scheme (tired of black)
- not blue LEDs all over, I've even disconnected the LEDs in my current one
- positive pressure with filters
- low noise (sometimes sleep with the PC on)
- 4x120mm mounts for cooling and noise (or more), if I don't really need this many will take less
- USB 3 and esata
- bottom PSU
Not in any rush to buy, so waiting for a new product is fine. Waiting for SB platforms to mature and GTX 560 news as well. No real pressing need to upgrade at the moment, just would be nice.
