Curious if its possible to control dual fans on a heatsink of a single cpu header? I was thinking I could get a splitter and remove the fan speed sensor from one fan as I think seeing two would create a problem. Anyone tried this?
So long as the PWM is being sent to both it will work fine, and so long as the mobo header can take the load from both.
Well this would be voltage controlled not PWM as these are 3 pin fans. It would be dual 1900 rpm Scythe S-flex fans.
honestly i wouldnt do that. youd be better off to run them off a direct psu line, or install a fan controller as well if needed. drawing too much from your board can cause voltage drops which can be a a pain especially if youre oc-ing.
I would think most fan headers can run dual fans on today's boards.
