1. Mic no worky...I'm using 5.1 so it's plugged into the front. Using Mic2 in the input options...can't get it to work

2. ICE isn't flat. I can't get it flat. it seems to be a little higher on the PSU side. With or without shim. That side is just sitting higher. But all in all it's fackin hot. [dremel in hand]

3. Nvidia System utility doesn't show the CPU and system temps. It did with my NF7-S. I didn't have to reinstall windows. I just put my HD in my new setup and it installed all the drivers. New board and old board were nforce2 ultra 400 and went from a 9700 pro to a 9800 pro.

Help?

NEW PROBLEM: When restarting it freezes on the POST screen. I have to shut it down for 10 seconds and turn it back on,

your heatpipes might have either warped or bent, to where it pushes the radiator against the mesh holes , and thus tilts the heatsink, .,., try cutting out the rear grill,

doesnt work with mine either, so just download this http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php and you can control your fans at the same time, NOTES: temp 2 = cpu, the rest i forgot, hehe

temp1 is under the PSU
temp 2 is the cpu socket
temp 3 is the case

at least that's what i remembered it being

Speedfan is a great utility!

Still can't get mic to work.

Speedfan seems cool but how do I adjust the speed? It doesn't list the motherboard and when I opened it, it just set them to full. It's on smartfan in the bios.

I'm really bothered by the ICE being tilted. I'm going to look into it more right now.

My speedfan is working alright now. Mic still doesn't work. I've chekced everything. Going to install older drivers to see if that helps.

I know the port works because when I first set this up a few days ago I checked with sound recorder. I opened it up and there was feedback. So I checked mute.

Since then it hasn't worked.

They only slow down when I set them to 10% or 5%

2x 80mm, push/pull, haven't cut yet

It doesn't tilt that way. It tilts towards the agp slot. The power supply side is higher.

I'll take it apart tomorrow. And i'm going to cut the grill out regardless. :D

For the mic, you have to select mic 2 in the audio control panel (yes every time) and maby mic boost.

None of the options work. I'm goign to try new drivers tomorrow when I have time.

Mic1 or mic2, in nvmixer or just sound options...either or...nothing...No matter what the settings

First, check the cable running from the front inputs to the motherboard and make sure they are properly seated. Next, do the crackle test ie. hotplug the mic about half way in to make sure you can hear it crackle. This will tell you if the mic is getting power. You might have to remove the front audio panel and check for grounding. Some of the earlier SN41 and SN45's suffered from front panel distortion due to a grounding issue on the the audio panel PCB. Use a pair of motherboard washers (redish ceramic type) when mounting the screws back down. This will help isolate any grounding issues you might run into with audio. When you have the pcb out, make sure the mic line is actually attached to the PCB mic in and ground.

For your reboot issue, set all IDE to automatc. Do not turn any that you are not using to off or disabled. If it warm reboots fine once setting all IDE ports to automatic, it means the BIOS doesn't like the fact that you have your HDD set to Master or Slave for the hard disk. Set it to CS or cable select.

Hope this helps,

I just installed windows on my raptor and installed the drivers that came on the disk with the shuttle. The mic and audio worked fine 5.1 w/ mic. I updated to the newest and it worked. Untill it clicked on mute for the mic. Now it no longer works. No matter what the setting. So it's a driver issue.

And it still doesn't restart properly.

Um, you installed a raptor drive, so what PCI SATA controller are you using? Were you always using this, or, in your original post was it with an PATA IDE drive?

I was using the 80GB Maxtor in my sig, now im using the raptor with the controller card in my sig

Same situation both times. Worked the first time. I muted the Mic so I didn't get feedback and it stopped working all together.

Ah, sorry about that. Where abouts during the warm reboot does it hang? Is it before the BIOS for the SATA card loads? Or, does the BIOS not even POST on warm reboot?

Restarts and stops after it says the CPU speed. Sometimes it shows the RAM count.

I dunno.

But with these issues it still does 2.4GHz on 1.75v :]

More than I can say for my last 2400+ mobile in my NF7-S Rev. 2

:]

All would be better If I got a better heatsink/fan for CPU and GPU

Any suggestions?

And my new cables and 120mm fan adapter come in a few days...
