What's the best way to finagle having three monitors on Windows 7? I'm currently running a GTX260 on a GA-EP45-UD3P. Assuming that I need a second video card, how is gaming performance affected? Does the other GPU just take over when I drag a window between displays? What are the concerns?

There should be no issues dragging windows between screens/cards. Unless you buy one of those little USB monitors, you will indeed require an additional video card.

or just to be [H] about it....get as many vid cards as will fit in your motherboard and go for the gusto....

i await your report on my desk...:p

in all seriousness, multi monitor support has been integrated since Win98. Win7 should definitely have no issues with it.

my only concerns for multi gpu setup such as you're asking about would be to not mix vendors. (ati vs nV or whatever) it may be possible to have disparate card vendors and never have issues, but i'd rather keep one family under the roof for ease of setup/support.

my .02¢

Yeah, I'm running two monitors currently, it's the multiple non-SLI GPU setup I was worried about. Haven't really heard them mentioned before, wanted to make sure it was doable before I sunk money in hardware.
