Anyone here put me in the right direction for setting up three monitors... to display three different screens from one system I see it alot on some websites... but dont understand what is needed to do so>.... I like playing flight sims and I think this would be awesome expecially for the Microsoft fligh sim 2004

can you get me the link for the thread please

Thanks for page.... bt expensive aint it
damn

You need an extra video card (assuming your current video card ahs two outputs). A PCI card will do fine for 2D desktop work.

I am only able to put one video card in Im running a shuttle.... has one pci slot and one agp

so that doesnt work i have my wireless nec card in the pci and a shitty gc in the agp slot... my good card died....

You’re running a shuttle with an admittedly shitty graphics card and you’re trying to stretch a graphically intensive program over three monitors. You think $299 is expensive solution to do that? A mid range video card would cost you the same. The TripleHead2Go is prolly the cheapest and easiest way to go.

T3ch
;)

I know... shitty graphics card... my new one is on the way my father inlaw who used to build systems rma it... suposedly they are sending me a brand new on ( to him in alabama that is ) then he will ship it to me.... so yeah eventually I would like the three screen set up
as for the usb wireless.... I dont liek them for somerease i dontget good enough bandwidth... I would like to get the chip they make to free it up..... buts it 100 bucks...

The best thing for you to do is get a dual output video card and a PCI card. If it's not worth removing whatever it is thats in the PCI slot then it must not be too important. On another note .... seeing as you have a shuttle, and don't want to give up anything, and don't want to shell out a triple screen vid card ...... what do you expect us to tell you lol.

You basically have 3 options, and option 3 looks like the best for you thus far
1) ditch the shuttle
2) ditch whatever takes the PCI slot as reviously mentioned
3) wait until it's worth the sacrifice

On another other note, 3 screens is nice, and they fit QUITE a lot. Once you add a monitor it's like adding a child, you can't do without it.

edit: server HD crashed :s

1280x1024x3 is nice, and when i had my 20" LCD, 21" CRT, and 2 19" flatscreens .... you better believe 1600x1200x4 was a subtle comfort. Re-evaluate importance, if it's not worth it to you then don't do it for the 'wow' factor because it gets old quick. I simply require atleast my 2 19" flats at 1280x1024 daily but even that is excessive overkill for 90% of users, not to mention the cost.

good luck

I had 3 monitors for a bit, and had 2 video cards. Didn't look very god though and when i ran games things would go a bit crazy. Like when you moved the mouse too far in the right (assuming the game was being played in the far left screen) and clicked or something the game would minimize since it thought you were clicking on some other application or whatever. this was annoying as hell in RTS games.

I apreciate all your thoughts.... if my truck sales ( in the f/s f/t threads... I will eventually buy a whole new rig, and have the three monitor set up going... and then part out the shuttle.

Thanks again

ultramon.com has a free utlitity I would never go multiple monitors without. you can simply right click the icon and hit disable secondary. It then runs games as if you had 1 monitor. It also allows for a unique wallpaper on each monitor, hotkeys .... for instance when i VNC i can hit ctrl+alt+L if the window i opened showed up offscreen on my secondary.

It is quite addicting and two video cards are needed.

Or 3 if you use SLi/crossfire.....

Thing is when you get used to them, using a PC with 1 monitor sucks.

that looks great, can 2x 7900gtx run 3 monitors without using the matrox unit?

Yes they can with SLi disabled.

If you don't want to piss about enabling/disabling SLi. Get a cheapo PCI card and you good to go. 1 monitor connected to you primary gtx, the other 2 connected to the PCI card. I've read it's best to avaid a NV PCI card tho if your running SLi so the forceware doesn't disable it when SLi is enabled.

Dead easy.

its all something i would have to look into...

I am considering selling my shuttle as a whole or parting out... havent decided yet....

This is something that I want to do.

Quick question...

I have a 20" widescreen and I want to keep the res if 1650x1080 so would I run it from my 7900 GTX and be able to keep this res if I have another pci card running the other two 17" tft at 1280x1024.

I have tried running two monitors off my GTX the widescreen and the 17" but I have to set the WS at the lower res of the 17" and it looks really bad.

How do I get a game to run on the widescreen and have the internet on one of the other screens.

What setting is it called?
Its not clone, span so what is it?

Thanks and sorry if these questions are noobish
