who does it - do you like it - how are the glasses for longer gaming sessions - etc

im feeling the buy something itch and im thinking i want to get one of these 23" 120hz 3d monitors to game on

i have a ps3 too so that would get some 3d love as well...
 
Terrible thread title no offense. Also youd have better luck in the Videocard section. Most of the people discussing 3D/surround are over there. I used to on a CRT but the 120hz LCDs are stupid expensive.
 
I've got 3D surround with an Asus monitor. It's not going to work for your PS3 because the monitor doesn't control the shutter glasses, a USB dongle does.

I absolutely love my 3D setup and I don't regret the purchase. Over the holiday weekend I played Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands. It was the first game I've played fully in 3D, and it was fantastic.

3D effects over time can mess with your eyes and give you headaches, but the effects vary per person.
 
Its a good novelty but wears off pretty quickly. My 3d vision really just sits there doing nothing. I do love the samsung 120hz monitor, it rocks!
 
seems as if another round of 3d monitors is not too far off - ill probably just wait... going to sell my xhd3000 and 5850 though... in prep for the new hotness
 
The price of the monitor isn't so bad, especially for what it is. When you figure in the cost of the glasses, thats what made it harder for me to pull the trigger. All said and done -- I don't regret it. Do I use it every day? no -- but when I do use it, it's the coolest gaming experience I've ever had, especially with games like Prince of Persia and Batman...
 
yea ive heard some people tell it that the 3d effect can be stupid impressive [batman...]

others say ... eh, its just ok

so i want to give it a try myself - what i dont want to do is spend $600+ now and then in 6 months a new round of monitors hit

like the 27" mythical beast that's sitting out there patiently waiting for me to spend money on something else before it comes out here in the us...
 
120hz lcds are sweet without 3d. The glasses are too gimmicky to warrant their price but 120hz is worth the $100 or so premium.
 
i think 3d is pretty stupid, its something that was revived that died, and after time it will effect everyones vision in one way or another some worse then others, my fince and i wont pay the $3-6 covercharge to see a 3d movie, and i think the concept is stupid, especially the 3d tv's waste the money on somethign that in 2-3 years wont be as popular anymore people will get sick of them. gaming in 3d would just annoy the hell out of me.
 
did the whole 3D thing on a friends system. was cool for all of 20 minutes then i just got sick of the stupid glasses and went back to gaming in 2D.

if the movies done right then it looks bad ass in 3D. Resident Evil 3D looked friggin bad ass, well done movie in 3D. Avatar on the other hand was boring and barely had anything 3D in it compared to RE. also watched Saw 3D and honestly i hate the Saw movies but it was cool as hell in 3D. while yeah i agree its a gimmick that will die off in the next 4-5 years if the movies done right then it look's cool. luckily for me it costs the same to see a movie in 3D as it does in 2D.
