I wouldn't trust giving my CPU to someone get it lapped... Even a store, I prefer do it by myself.
Lapping a CPU is certainly easier than you think, if you are getting worried about your first lapping is in your CPU, do it in a HSF or even in an old CPU and you will see it's quite simply.
