• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

When I post in threads and then someone else posts I see
thread_dot_hot_new.gif

and then once I read the latest post I see
thread_dot_hot.gif

But... sometimes I come back to the thread and see
thread_dot_hot_new.gif
and think oh great new posts to read! But there are no new posts, it was all a hoax

Do you have to add some kind of insane level of cookie privileges that give the forum access to my social security deposit box at fort knox for it to work properly or is something broken on the forums end?
Getting this same behavior on two PC's with different OS' (and one running chrome and one running firefox)

The proper icon to note a thread has a New post since the last time you viewed the thread is this one (at least it's the one I see and instantly know there's a new post or posts in a thread that I haven't seen):
firstnew.gif
Also, note that's not the same as
lastpost.gif
which directly links to the last post made - the
firstnew.gif
specifically shows me there's something new and it takes me to the first new one regardless of how many news ones there are (they would, of course, come after that first new one if they exist).

I see the icons you're talking about but, and this one:
thread_dot_hot.gif
actually means you have a post in that thread -
thread_dot_hot_new.gif
means it's thread with a post or posts from you and there's a new one there also.

At least that's how I understand it. When I load a subforum I just look for the
firstnew.gif
and hit that for the threads I'm interested in to get the newest unread post(s).

I've never paid much attention to any of the other thread status icons myself, that one is the primary one I look for.
