I am building a new system shortly with about 3 grand to spend, here is what I am looking at so far

Antec P180 Case
Antec Neo HE 550W
AMD Opteron 175
Asus A8N32-SLI
Corsair XMS 3500LL Pro
Western Digital 150GB Raptors in RAID 0
Western Digital 400GB SE16 in RAID 0
BFG 7800GTX OC 256MB in SLI config
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
Plextor PX-740A X2

The power supply is temporary until I can go get a PC Power or something similar.

Mobo wise I am debating the A8N32-SLI or getting the MSI K8N Diamond Plus.

Not expecting a huge jump, guess you could say I am used to it for the Raptors though, I have run the 36 and 74 gig units. The 150 Raptors would be RAID0, the 400GB SE16's probably wont. Those are just for storage mainly.

Ewh to the RAM. Overpriced Corsair...What a surprise. Get some of the 2-3-2-5 DDR400 or if you want really good ram at the same price. Get the Crucial Ballistix tracers DDR500. Those can do 285HT, some have hit higher, but I am no expert on RAM.

Since I've already copied and pasted advice today, here goes nothing, er, again.

You have an overclocker's board, and an overclocker's CPU; where the cooling? If you're not going to overclock, why the enthusiast's hardcore stuff?

And this comes up a lot, but do you hate onboard sound? Notice it, (though side-by-side comparisons, sure, anyone can do that, but really notice it, like "damn, that's some shitty on-board audio you're hitting us with, dude," and dude says, "how'd you even notice,")? If you're driving $400 speakers or headphones, don't delay with the purchase. If you're into the performance gains, spend the $107 on a better processor.

The cooler I forgot to ad, its the Zalman 9500, and yes, I hate onboard sound, I mean come on now, I am running Logitech Z-5500's
