Thoughts on this card and dual setup question

uh..the adapter works fine. Ive used it on like every monitor card that ive had with dual outputs

Umm what else are u using that config for? 9600's suck at gaming...

I play games, but I don't tote my computer to lan parties and the like. Do do I spend 12 straight hours playing halo or some shit like that. I sometimes watch DVDs on my rig and also do a lot of photoshop and illustrator work.

I'm thinking of playing doom 3 but only for a little while. I remember back in the day when you just shoot and kill shit... these days you have all this role playing crap you have to do before you go kick ass, that bores me. Mainly, i'll play doom 3 just to check it out and see what all the damn hype is, no hardcore gaming.

erm, well a 9600xt would be the lowest I'd go performance wise if you play Halo and I'd suggest a 9800np or 9800 pro or even a 5900 nu or 5900xt.

Bah, all your video card mumbo jumbo confuses me. I think my previous post was horrendously written, I DO NOT play halo or any, I suppose, system straining games.

I take it then I'm ok with this thing.

Would you recommend a card for minesweeper?

Your post confused me, yes if you are only doing 2d and not playing any 3d games, I'd suggest this card...

It's basically an underclocked version of that card you posted but has the same memory speed so you could easilly OC it to be the same card and save 20 bucks. However if you do want to OC more get this one, it has an active cooler and it's the same card as above (but with a fan on it).

I, admitedly, am ignorant as to all these 9500, 9550, 9600, ati nvidia, etc. terms. I'm getting confused...

Are you telling me those two cards in your post with 128mb of memory are better than the card I posted with 256mb of memory? Or is strict reliance on quantity of memory not a prime consideration when purchasing a card?

Yea quantity of memory for a 9550 & 9600 series card is like ... not even considerable, you see SO little to no performance increase, if u can call it an increase, it could be a decrease since some times they put crappy memory for the extra 128mb's to make up for costs. The only cards you can really use 256 megs of ram on are like 9800pro and up... your cards wont do that speed ever... soo just go with 128 meg cards.

Those cards aren't BETTER in fact they are worse performance wise. But they are just underclocked versions of the 9600 series (what u posted) with less ram than the card u posted, that's all. And clocks can be changed software side called Over Clocking or OCing for short.

Get what I said and you'll have fine 2d performance and if you ever want to play a game you can learn to OC from these forums. The ram on the cards I posted is the same speed as the card u posted and the ram is the thing you need to worry about most of the time so all you'd have to do is up the core gpu (like cpu but on the gfx card, the thing under the heatsink/fan). But remember those cards are not great cards, they are good for 2d but 3d they sorta suck. Since you don't play games that's fine, right?

Go for one that I posted and you'll be fine.

Dude, give me some fuckin credit... you thought it was necessary to explain to me what OCing was and to tell me that the cpu is under the heatsink.... I did just build my own athlon 64 system, modded the fuck out of it, and made it look clean. Jeez... ;)

But thanks for your help as per videocards, at least I know what to get now.

You seemed sorta noobish, if my speak of 9800pro and 5900's mae you wince, a cpu might have made you cry.
