thoughts on new koolance products

i hadnt been to the koolance homepage in a while and i was pretty impressed at what i saw when i went there recently.

theyve made alot of changes with the case. the most exciting change is the new 3/8 tubing instead of 1/4, theyre now using dual 120mm fans to cool the radiator which should make it even more quiet. the lcd display has been reworked and instead of only 3 modes for the fan speed, there are now 10. the res has an led light in it. they claim that it will work with dual sli systems. i cant wait till they come out with an updated exos unit with 3/8 tubing, and the new radiator/fan/res setup.

the new video card cooler is for 6800gt/ultra's. this is good for me because when i eventually upgrade my video card i can now by a waterblock that matches my whole kit. of coarse by the time i need to by a new video card ill probobly be building a new system and ill consider the new koolance case and 3/8 tubing waterblocks.

i want to hear comments from everyone including koolance haters about how their products are developing.
 
The case is still $300 without a waterblock.. Last time I checked DIY solutions were quieter, more powerful, and cheaper.

actually its $400 :( i hope its that high just because its new.
 
Over $500 with CPU and GPU waterblocks. Its a very nice case, big improvement, but the price is just too painfull.
 
The price seems to be right when you consider in the cost of an Aluminum Mid Tower, Dual 120mm fans and radiator, reservoir with internal pump and LCD. Its not the absolute best in performance of course and not the most affordable for everybody but I like what Koolance has done with their image. Its clean, effective and best of all a simple way to invite others into the hobby of water cooling and even modding. I say give it a go if you are interested and can afford it.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to pay another ~$150 just to have "Koolance" stamped on the front of my case.

I also see they haven't updated their block design to be servicable, something that has never sat well with me. Koolance has always been a great solution for those who:
*don't care about best performance possible
*want an easy to setup watercooling rig
*don't mind spending a lot of money
I built a Koolance Exos rig for my father-in-law because he wanted a system that ran cooler and was easy to maintain. He doesn't OC, play games or even open his case so the Exos was a good solution for him. I myself run a custom pieced together system which performs great. I run my M 2600+ at 2.4 gigs and at a 220 FSB. I play lots of games and I love tweaking and tinkering. IMO, the 2 of us (dad-in-law and me) typify (in my mind) the difference between Koolance and DIY.

That case can easily be as expensive as $150 or even more, the radiator can easily cost the $50 without the fans which can be $20 a piece. The tubing.... well, the tubing is expensive for some reason from them. The LED Display costs about $25 and the extra 80mm fans and all the other accessories given with the case seem to bring it right up to what its selling for.

The cost is about right so I would consider to not cause a fuss about it. The performance may not be the best but sometimes the best will be even more expensive.
