Thoughts on CPU Cooler

It's a good cooler. I have a Tuniq Tower, which is about the same price, but a lot of people really love that Zalman and the performance is quite high.

The only reason NOT to get the Zalman is if it doesn't fit in your case. Double check the dimensions of your case before you order the Zalman.

Have fun with your overclocking. :)

I typically like a larger case and I plan on getting the:

Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS Black Full Tower Case w/ 25CM Fan

If the CPU cooler doesn't fit that case, I don't think it will fit any case.

I got the thermaltake bigwater 745 pump, reservoir, radiator, cpu block, vga block (which I customized to fit my Northbridge) and lots of tubbing for $40 at a local computer store. My jaw dropped when he said $40, used, but still...

Right now I'm using a pentium D 820, waiting for my e6320, hoopefully it will run cooler!

160.00, but it also comes with the dual 120mm radiator, I only got a single.

Ah, this is where I hear the guy in the background saying 'You would be amazed what can fall off the back of a truck'. I think I will stick with the Zalman for now considering I would rather play with mounting a large heatsink instead of learning how to do a water cooled system.

Just a thought!
Although that is a great deal, thats not what everyone will find so its not exactly best to recommend it if it isn't readily available at such a price. :p

From what I gather, Zalman's, in general, aren't the top dog when it comes to cooling and many say its not worth what they charge for it. Then again, I haven't used it so I don't know if these guys are just blowing smoke out of their butts. Shop around, read reviews, read these forums.. I'm sure you'll find exactly what you are looking for.

I think the problem is that I have read many reviews from vendors and computing websites. I would really like to get user input on how well this product works or doesn't work depending on opinions. It puts it in better perspective for me to see what people think about a product who don't test products for a living, but instead have to use that product every day.
