How is this camera? I found a body for cheap and the seller says its been taken care of fairly well. Anyone still use film SLRs? lol

so i actually ended up gettin an EOS Rebel Ti 300V for $90 shipped. came with 3 rolls of film and the 28mm lens. I thought it was a good deal. Would this be a great camera to get into photography with?

You might want a less wide angle lens. Maybe a 50mm prime, or even a zoom lens? I don't know how compatible Canon's non-D SLRs are with new lenses, but I'm sure you can find something at least a little more versatile than a wide angle lens.

yeah i'll have to look. i wished i had the camera tonight. on the way to my sports bar of choice, the sun was already down but there was this lattice work of aircraft contrails in the sky. was the coolest pattern i've seen.

here is what came with the camera btw:
* the EOS Rebel Ti silver body
* the original ef 28-90mm f/4-5.6 II silver zoom lens
* a canon EOS strap
* 3 rolls of color film
* 2 rolls of black/white film
* and all the original manuals/paperwork and box that came with the camera when purchased.

film cameras. i remember using those 30 years ago

it comes down to , are you going to develop it yourself? if not then you should look at a P&S digital

film takes alot of work

i already have a digital camera for everyday usage. as for developing it myself...i'll prolly end up taking a photography class here and there and use the college's dark room.

If you're serious about film, maybe a medium format would be a better idea? Like an old used Hasselblad or a Pentax or something?

well we'll see. if i wasn't so swamped with other projects for my current classes, i'd prolly sit down and read up on film and just photography in general. though i find myself procrastinating way too much on these forums lol

He'll be able to use any of Canon's EF lenses (not EF-S).

The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L is a nice lens, but it costs about $1300. :(
Or how about the EF 17-40mm f/4L for about $700?

luckily with Canon EF there are TONS of lens out there.

There are ones from budget range (few hundred $) to the L professional range ($1000s!).
