This folding newb must be getting addicted. Today I traded the sound card out of my gaming rig for 2GB of memory so I can add another rig to the farm.

Now, if only all my points from today would start showing up I'd be very happy.

That's a good start for sure. Now, when you start trading your food........;):p

You make it sound like thats a bad thing :p

I've started having lunch at home 2-3 times a week to save money. If it saves me 8 buck a lunch at 2.5 per week, that's 80 a month.

You can get some good folding equipment for that every month.

I don't need to..... but It makes me feel not as guilty when I log on to newegg :D

Welcome to the addiction. It only gets worse from here and there is no working 12 step program. Not that anybody really wants one. :D

It's a funny thing you mention that. Started working when I was 16 and faced forced retirment at 60. All those years never a breakfast or lunch at home, and I never did brown bag it.

Now I admit that back in my youth you could buy 2 burgers, 2 large fries and a large Coke at McD for $00.75 not to mention the gas to get there every working day, even then at $00.20 a gallon however, if you factor all that in now........well, it hurts.

Really makes you think;)

just a ?

why E8400 and not a Q6600?

i really really really wanted another quad but its going in a sff case and cooling isn't as good in it, so i settled for a for e8400. for now thats all the "D" i can get in terms of active pcs. Now its time to upgrade the rents sempron pc to an x2 4000 with out them knowing it :D:p

As a Financial Advisor with a major firm, it's very true. I get mad at ppl when they say they cant put $50/month in a Roth. Stop drinking a coke a day and you are 2/3 there.

Not to mention the weightloss :p

LOL... the addiction isn't as bad as mine. I put a order for lots lots lots of parts to build 3 Q6600 boxens bringing to a total of 5 personnally (+1 for my ex-gf who wanted her own E2160 boxen that I could fold). But this will be what I will do for this year. I'll see later if I can wedge 1 extra boxen during fall.

Yeah I think I've averaged about 1 boxen a week for the last 10 weeks... So I know the addiction, but I'm done for a while... No really I am... I mean really! I can stop... really I can...

Your going to max out your electric service box before long:p

Wasn't it you that if you used the iron your fuse blew and you have to move to another outlet?

near future:

Ok, I want to use the microwave for 3 min. Now my UPS will keep the boxen up for 5 so I should be ok. Then......

i'm gonna build my first quad tonight or tmw, and then get that dell quad box deal for $422, then go from there :)

Yeah that was me! I've spread the boxes out among two circuits now, so 1 circuit has 8 quads and the other has my gaming rig and my HTPC and PS3 so that should prevent any overloads! Man my condo is so frig'n engineered... I just finished adding another series of those windows fans in preparation of tomorrow's high of nearly 80!

I think I've stopped buying parts for a bit.
But ................
I keep looking at the E5450's and thinking they will fit nicely in place of my X5355's.
I may wait till they are sub £500 each before I buy them.
Or I may not .................. :D

I'm not addicted.
I did turn all my boxen off only a few weeks ago ...........

I was upgradeing then all to Quads from Dual's and you cannot work on them when they are on ......... :p

Luck ........... :D

I only eat one meal a day so how's that for [H]ard? No breakfast or lunch for me, just supper. I'd probably skip that meal every once in a while as well if I didn't already have to fix something for my son for supper. I also do a good job at keeping the amount of money needed for a meal for two people down low. If I need more than $5 for a meal for my son and myself it's because I'm splurging.

I fixed up some Santa Fe soup yesterday for supper. The total ingredients cost me around $5 not counting the ground beef (which I get for free and is better than anything you will find in a store) and it will also feed us for supper tonight as well. $2.50 for a meal for two people is a pretty good deal. Mac & cheese with tuna (or chicken although tuna is much cheaper) and some bread is also a cheap meal.

I have also practically given up drinking (unfortunately) and that saves me a bit of money. I'm thinking of taking up drinking again, though, since I was always in better health when I did. Alcohol would probably cost less than regular doctor visits and drugs.

I do still smoke, though. Sure, a pack a day is somewhat expensive but I figure I should keep at least one vice. That reminds me, I should probably go out manw[H]oring this weekend since my dad wants to keep my son for the weekend.
