this is weird...........x800-x800xt?

I picked up a x800pro at CompUSA back in Aug. Mine turned out to be a VIVO with 1.6 memory and the Rage Theater chip. I was able to flash it with the Gigabyte XTPE bios and it's running fine at 520/560....

The one in that newegg link appears to be a plain pro......I suggest trying to find a VIVO card. :)
 
The card shown in the link is definately not a Vivo. Therefore don't bother performing what is called a softmod, flashing the bios. It will not work!

how can you tell that it's not a vivo?

There's 3 things to look for to make sure it is a vivo.
1.) Under the purple power connector, there will be a yellow connector. Don't know what it's for, but ViVo's have them.
2.) The ram chips should all end with code GC-16, as opposed to the slower GC-20 ram that usually comes with pro's.
3.) On the back of the card (opposite heatsink side) there should be a "Ati Rage Theatre" chip, if there isn't, then you don't have a Vivo card.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any combining of the above traits except some cards come with both flavors of ram speed, in any case, unless you have all 3 of the above parts, do not try and flash your bios.

your are the greatest man, that thing you mentioned above about what ram you have and the good one being the GC-16, well i looked at my cards ram and I have them on both sides YEA!!!!!,WOOT!!!!!!. Oh, my card is a X800XT.
