I'm getting another HD to go with the 120GB i have in it already (SATA), can I just plug another HD in and will windows recognize it? What do I have to do to just to use it as storage?
 
When I got my second SATA HDD, I plugged it in, booted up, and BOOM, that nice thing called plug and play came into the picture and took care of the rest. I started using it for storage right away. Good luck with your new HDD. :)
 
about step one in your sig. I am not able to hit F6, it just doesn't do anything, and I know for sure the keyboard is working because I was able to hit a key to boot from cd. also, no I do not have one of those keys on my keyboard that enables the F buttons. I installed windows anyway, and from the device manager I insatlled the RAID drivers. I hope that worked fine. only problem now is that windows keeps seeing my sata drive as a removable drive and I dont' know why. is this a problem? what should I do? thanks.

you only need to hit f6 during a new windows install.... if your just adding a drive move to the seconed set of his instructions...
