This is getting on my nerves, Wake on lan stops working after a while...

Ok this is really really getting frustrating...

I setup 2 servers running server 2003 and after I finally got them working good I enabled wake on lan...

I set them up with static IP addresses, they are behind a belkin router.

Thing is, when I send the magic packet 1 or 2 mins after they shut down, they turn back on...but if I wait 10 mins or more, they wont turn on...

I dont get it, why does it work after shutting them down but not after waiting a while....

please help me I've run out of ideas...

I have had some wierd wake on lan issues over the years as well. Step one is to make sure the bios is upto date. 95% of the time a bios update fixes any wake on lan issues for our optiplexes. Also make sure your settings are correct. Other than making sure wake on lan is enabled, make sure all powersaving bios options are turnned off.
