Ok just built a new secondary PC with an epox nforce 3 ultra mobo, a64 3000+ cpu, 512 mb corsair value ram and radeon 9800 pro. I installed the nvidia unified drivers (skipped their IDE driver) + realtek audio drivers. Operating system is Windows XP with SP 1 + SP 2 installed.
The problem is that anytime I play a video in windows media player (or any other player) it seems to be playing at 1.5x the normal speed. I've tried everything I could to alleviate this and the only thing that got rid of this problem was when I completely uninstalled the sound drivers and ran it without sound. Does anyone else that uses onboard AC '97 sound have this issue and how did you overcome it? Hopefully my only avenue out of this isn't having to go out and buy an Audigy.
