Data: The problem is your CPU. your card is being bottlenecked by your CPU by a lot although you should notice a huge diffrence between x800xt and 9600xt.

Anyway, 3.4Ghz is _barely_ going to bottleneck that card. If he had a 1.8 or something that wouldn't show any improvement, but I jumped from a vanilla 9800 to an X800XT on my 3.0C and there was a world of difference.

just got to add when i had far cry with all settings on max and 1600x1200 with my x850xt pe i got around 70 fps in a similar screenshot if i remember correctly i never fell under 40 fps

sorry guys but this x850XT is going to be returned to circuit city tommrow. It just was not worth $450, it doesnt run all that much faster than my 9600xt and just was not the investment for me. I thought everybody said it would be 2x faster than the 9600xt, but i can do almost everything on the 9600xt as I can the x850XT.

I guess I will just wait for a new generation of cards in a few years,

i didn't read this thread but did you make sure to up your AGP apeture size to 256megs in the BIOS? Make sure you did that.

most people would agree that AGP apeture size should not be more than 128MB

In most occasions I would agree with you but Data is a diffrent case. The fact was he was bullshiting and lieing. I really dont think anyone in this Thread other than Data should be banned. Most while did insult him didnt do it in a overly zealous way.
